چکیده
The charge density in a flame contains important information about the combustion processes that is difficult to obtain due fast, complex, and highly exothermic reactions. This paper presents study of using electrostatic probes measure methane fired diffusion premixed flames. sensing principle, practical design, performance assessment probe are presented. Comparative experimental studies with reference ion-current sensor carried out on test rig indicate fluctuation signal from arises variation flame. A dimensionless index, combining average local peak values oscillation frequency, adopted as an indicator density. Experimental results demonstrate has increasing trend fuel flowrate varying 0.80 L/min 1.20 L/min. methane-air yields decreasing equivalence ratio ranging 0.54 0.75, then increases reaches at 1.03, continues increase when varies 1.03 3.50. inner cone higher than outer for obtained suggest developed index can be used

Three-scalar Imaging in Turbulent Non-premixed Flames of Methane
Raman scattering from nitrogen in laminar (Re 4 1600) and turbulent (Re 4 15,000) non-premixed flames of diluted methane has been investigated as a means of complementing the two-scalar mixturefraction computation based on measurements of fuel mass fraction and temperature (nFT). Using a diluent consisting of argon and oxygen with an overall volumetric dilution ratio of 3/1 (diluent/fuel) allow...
متن کاملEquivalence Ratio Effects in Turbulent, Premixed Methane-air Flames
Turbulent methane flames exhibit a change in Markstein number as the equivalence ratio changes. In this paper, we demonstrate how these changes in Markstein number are related to shifts in the chemistry and transport. We focus on the analysis of simulations of two-dimensional premixed turbulent methane flames at equivalence ratios φ=0.55 and φ=1.00 computed using the GRI-Mech 3.0 mechanism. The...
متن کاملInhibition of Premixed Methane-air Flames by Iron Pentacarbonyl
Introduction: Brorninated fwe suppressants are effective and widely used [1]. Due to their destruction of stratospheric ozone, however, the production of these chemicals was halted in January 1994. Although testing and development of possible substitutes is occurring [2], a repkcement with all of the desirable properdes of CF3Br (the most common fire suppressant) has yet to be identified. Conse...
متن کاملInfluence of coal dust on premixed turbulent methane–air flames
This study discusses the design of a new experimental platform, the Hybrid Flame Analyzer (HFA) to measure burning velocity of gas, dust, and hybrid (gas and dust) premixed flames. The HFA is used to analyze a particle–gas–air system of coal dust particles (75–90 lm and 106–120 lm) in a premixed CH4–air (/g = 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2) flame. Experimental results show that particles usually increase the...
متن کاملThermal Radiation Properties of Turbulent Lean Premixed Methane Air Flames
Thermal radiation properties of turbulent premixed flames have received little attention in the past perhaps because of the lower radiative heat loss compared with that for non-premixed flames. However, the high-temperature sensitivity of NO kinetics and the importance of radiation in near-limit laminar premixed flames provide fundamental reasons for studies of radiation properties of turbulent...
